NOBLE for BABY GIRL

I would love to give my daughter a family name but we have very few original names. My grandmother's maiden name was NOBLE. Do you think Noble is a nice name for a girl? Too masculine? We were thinking NOBLE ELIZABETH.

Please give your honest opinion!

I think it, like most surnames, works better as a middle name- Elizabeth Noble

As a middle name it actually seems awesome. But as a first name it is freaking me out. Sorry.

I agree with the pp - I really like Noble as a middle name, but I wouldn't use it as a first name. I just think it sounds strange that way, sorry. Elizabeth Noble is really nice, though!

I agree with the last two posts ... it'd be a nice, unique mn but I don't like it as much as a fn.

HTH!

I like the idea of including family names, but I like Noble better for a boy. I think it might lead to some confusion down the road.

I think Noble Elizabeth is beautiful. I like it as a first name. If you switch it it sounds like a hyphenated last name. Very unique. It sounds like a strong, outgoing, proud southern name. Hope the southern part doesn't may you dislike it.

I don't think Noble is a first name, sorry.

You know what? I like it. Different, but not out-there weird.

I don't like it at all. Maybe as a mn, but it just doesn't seem like a name to me. I think its tacky.

I have to agree with a lot of the prior posters - Noble would work fine as a mn, but not as a fn for a girl. I've only known one Noble and it was a he. I also think using it as a first name makes it sound more like an adjective, rather than a name, and a somewhat presumptous one at that.
