I don't generally like place names, but this one is quite pretty.

However, it does sound weird with your other kids' names -- are you Irish? Ukranian? Republican?

For me, I guess it would depend most on your last name. If you have a very common American last name (Jones or something), I think you could get away with a name that unusual. If your last name is long, complicated, or strongly associated with a partcular country of origin, I would go with a more common first name.

Well, yes, yes, and yes. We are Irish (dh), Ukranian (me) and Republican (both)! Our last name is Linnett, so not too long or complicated. My DH found the name on a graduation plaque at our son's school and it has grown on me, but it is different. On top of that, I have relatives that live in Odessa, WA and my dh went on a life-changing missions trip to Odessa, Ukraine so we have that background for the name also.
Thanks for your input!

That is so funny! Rachel has been #1 on our list for so long! Until we found Odessa. It has been our back-up girl name for both our boys! I still like Rachel and so does DH, but I think we want something a little less common. Great suggestion though! Thanks for the input!
