I voted for Emma. I just feel that Eleanor is too old fashioned.

My vote went to Eleanor Charlotte Bender, mostly because Emma Bender is quite a tongue twister, and doesn't sound nearly as appealing as it might with some other ln -- not that you can help that, but we've all been there LOL -- and it's also much more popular/common (although I do like Emma in theory).

I don't really like Will and Ella, however. They sound incredibly similar, and if you say them together they pretty much blend together into "Willa." So while I prefer that combo in general, I wouldn't personally use the nn Ella with big brother Will.

I love the name Eleanor and it got my vote maily because Emma Bender is kind of hard to say. The Em and Ben trip me up. Ella isn't my favorite nn for Eleanor (I like Nora and Nell) but it is cute. Good luck!

I chose Eleanor b/c Emma has been the number 1 girls name for both 2005 AND 2006 (see recent post with the Top 10 names for boys and girls). I do like both names a lot, but I wouldn't want my daughter to have the number 1 name...that's just me though... I do like both and think both sound classy, cultured, and feminine, but I'd still go with Eleanor...
Best of luck!

I voted for Emma because I love this name, and despite the fact that everything says it's like the #1 or #2 chosen name, I've never met but one and it was a nn for Emily. I think Ella and Will are cute as well, but maybe too much L sound together.

I actually dislike Eleanor terribly but I like Ella a lot. I like it a bit more than Emma, which is also very pretty. So I voted for #1.
