I grew up with a classmate named Peyton (male), so I don't think of it as trendy, but I think it might have become trendy when I wasn't looking?

Opinions?

Oh my gosh, Peyton and Avery are super trendy and awful:( Peyton reminds me of the novel Peyton Place and Avery reminds me of Ovary. Uck! Of course, what's offensive to one is appealing to another!! I never really cared if anyone liked my choice of a name for my dd or it was too popular, ect. When a name is right, you just know:)

I love Peyton for a boy( which is my sons name) I do know some girls and boys with this name. I think with Peyton Manning and Walter Payton it is a great boy name. But if you are into the show One Tree Hill they have a girl Peyton on that show.
Avery is more of a girl name where I live. But it is cute too.
