I used to think Peyton was all boy, until I met a lady w/ a little girl named Peyton. It started to seem more like a girl's name. Then I saw "One Tree Hill" and there's a character named Peyton that really seems to fit the name. Now I really like it for a girl (only!). :-)

I will always think of Peyton and Payton (my fave) as boy names! However, I have seen it spelled Paityn for a girl recently, and I liked it! It looks more feminine this way.

Hi Becky I have a very very girley girl and her name is Paiton, My husband and I were expecting a girl but she was going to be Paiton if she was a boy we love the name and did not have anything else picked out. We decided on the middle name about 2 hours after she arrived. You can make the middle name Boyish or Girley. I think Paiton is a great name for a Girl or a Boy. Best Luck. Lynn

Boy Peyton

Girl Payton

Or Paiton

I used to think that Peyton was all boy until my girlfriend named her daughter Olivia Peyton..now I like it but I think that it can still go either way.

I like it for both too and I would like to use it if I ever have a son. I just didn't want him to get picked on for having a girly name! LOL.

Hi Becky,

I think Peyton works well for a boy or girl, for a boy just add a more masculine middle name. I named my 4 yr old son Payton Scott and thought the spelling "Payton" looked more boyish than "Peyton." (I usually see the "Peyton" spelling used for girls.) I absolutely love that name for boys or girls though, would have named my baby "Peyton" if he ended up being a girl!! Good luck w/your decision!!!
