We're due in July and still searching for a name for this little girl. Her brother's name is Nile David and our last name starts with T and is long. I am hung up on the name Nola, since I want a name that is fairly unusual but gender specific. DH prefers almost any other name, esp. Nicole, Annika, Megan, Nora, Stephanie. I would love feedback on Nola and if you prefer any of the other options! Thanks! -christie ds Nile 2yo

Personally I think Nola is too close to Nile....plus I'm not too crazy about the name itself either...I do like your DH's choices though

sorry!

afraid to say I'd have to agree with your husband, I don't like Nola. don't like Nora any better either. I like Annika the best of his choices, just because you don't hear it a lot. If you really want another N, Nicole is better than Nola or Nora. Also there's Noelle or Nina. Nina would be short, much much cuter than Nola or Nora.

Nola is okay, but personally, I prefer Nora. That's one of my favorite names anyway--and what we'll probably use if we ever have another girl!

I agree with the pp that suggested Nina. That's a really pretty name. I personally prefer Nora, but that's just me.

And I was curious about the pronunciation of Annika? Is it AN-nick-uh or Uh-NEEK-uh or

AH-nick-uh? The third pronunciation is the prettiest, imo.

Just my thoughts!

I like Nora better than Nola. Nola makes me think of the Enola Gay-the plane that dropped the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima in WWII. Nile & Nora make cute sib names too.

I agree, I'd definitely choose Nora over Nola, and it's only different by 1 letter.
