Of the two I would picke Reid. But I prefer Reed. Would you considered that spelling?

Reed and Reid are names. Of the two, I prefer Reid. Read, however, is a verb.

I prefer Reid, since it is always pronounced "reed." Read can be "red" or "reed" depending on the context. I'd pick Reid or Reed just to eliminate any confusion.

It's a great name, btw. :)

For some reason, I don't like Reed...it makes me think of the "stick" meaning, I guess.
RE: verbs as names, that shouldn't exclude them, correct? (Wade comes to mind)
Very good point about Reid vs. the possible "Red" pronunciation of Read!

the choices I think would be Reid or Reed - of which I'd be completely neutral, either one

but Read can be pronounced thte same as RED - as in "I read People Magazine yesterday afternoon"
