Reusing a name from a past pet?

I keep coming back to a name that I keep crossing off the list because we had a pet Hamster, I know not as known as a dog or cat but still used.
What do you think of reusing a past pets name?

Brandy,
How embarrased will you be to tell people that your kid was named after your hamster? Are you naming
Definitely not naming after the hamster. I would probably change the spelling. We both just love the name....
Adaline, was the hamsters name
We would use Adeline.
I will also go through and get rid of any pictures of the hamsters also...lol.
ROFL Okay, I have to confess here - I had a poodle named Simon (it was a family dog, I was 12, what can I say?) and have thought of Simon over the years but my husbands one male cousin is named, of course, Simon.
my Dd's middle name was the name of our family dog that had died just before she was born, just a coincidence though, we liked the name Kaitlynn 'Jade'. I really wasnt thinking about it being the dogs name when we were in the hospital (we didnt decide on names until the day she was born) btw the dog was my dads dog, but had been in the familily since I was about 8 years old.
lol, i think it probably happens a lot. although i have to share
My Aunt and Uncle spent months trying to decide if they wanted to get a pet, finally they decided on a cat, brought him home and named him Henry.**their neighbors didnt know the kittens name yet, but were close friends of my aunt and uncle** A week later their neighbors came home with their brand new baby boy and had named him Henry, when asked what the cats name was my uncle spluttered a bit and then changed the name to Tango.
It was so funny when it happened and my aunt was really worried that the neigbors would find out (they live in the U.K. and had named the kitten after the cartoon henry the cat. :)
This is probably not the same thing but in middle school I named all my math equipment. Compass, protractor, calculator.... that kind of thing. (Yes I was a strange child.) Well I'd forgoten what I named them all and a year after my 1st DD was born I was cleaning out boxes of old stuff and right in the middle of it was the protractor named Zoe. I was a little bit weirded out by it but I got over it in time. ;o)
I love the name you have picked out and wouldn't care if it had once been a hampster's name. It's not like you're concidering "Fluffy" or anything.
Good luck!
