I have always LOVED the name Samantha - sam and sammy are cute too...it is just so classy and sophisticated... Savannah is just very southern to me - i know a couple of little savannah's and it just never seems to evoke a positive reaction from me...
I'd be happy to think up some more along those style lines if you want - do you want an S name or was that just coincidence?

Easily Samantha- it is very classy where Savannah is the opposite, at least for me.

I voted for Savannah, because I really dislike the nn Sam for a girl...I don't know why I just do. Samantha without a nn isn't bad though.

thank you for the feedback
does anybody else have any opinions or suggestions?
Samantha by a landslide for me. It's a classic name. Sam is cute, Samantha is more elegant, that she can use forever.
Since you ask, Savannah (and my dearest friend has one) is one of those "place" names that just doesn't mean anything. Except grasslands, I guess!
One of my friends was picking b/w Samantha and Sophie....
I just don't find Savannah to be a very classy name - sorry!
Samantha is and I like the name Sam on a girl - I like this choice best.

If Savannah has some kind of family importance for you, or you have a connection to the city, I'd be more open to that one.
But going just by the names alone, I much prefer Samantha, because I am definitely not a fan of naming children after terrain.
I like Savannah, its a beautiful name.
Don't care for Samantha - it reminds me too much of that woman Samantha on the t.v. show "Sex and the City".
I voted for Samantha.
