hi guys,

for my next son i either like Seamas-spelt like that or Hamish. I already have a son called Liam and the surname would be Farrelly-which is irish but i also have Scottish in me.
Seamas and Hamish are both forms of James funnily enough but i'm not sure which one to use-any suggestions?? I also don't mind the name Tristan but not sure of it.
thanks for your ideas

I'd go for Hamish if you could get the correct HAIM-ish pronunciation but if 'HAM-ish' is going to be a continual problem then I'd go with Seamas.

Honestly, Tristan seems rather delicate next to Liam, Seamas and Hamish.

Well I love Seamus, but only with that spelling. Seamas just looks like it would end in a 'mass' sound as opposed to Shay-muss. Hamish is a nice name as well, Tristan is NMSAA, one of my least favorite boys names.

With that spelling I would pick Hamish, sounds great with Liam too!

Well to be honest, I think Tristan would be a much better choice of name than Seamus or Hamish. I am sure Seamus and Hamish are very old names with a lot of history and tradition in them, but honestly I just don't care for those names. Tristan is a great name. I also love the name Liam. I've heard lots of other Irish names for boys like Declan. I like Declan.

You've found in me an adoring heart for Seamus (prefer trad. spelling). It comes off as adorable, unassuming, almost cute on a little fellow and strong, elegant, sexy on a grown man. What a lovely combo with Farrelly! Best wishes, Ginger

Hamish! I really love this name. It sounds great w/Farrelly, & is absolutly adorable w/big brother Liam (another one of my favourites.) Seamus (I perfer this spelling) is nice, but it doesn't have the same charm of Hamish at all. Hope this helps.
