I would spell it the original way, Ryan Marie.

I agree with those who say stick with the original spelling. You wont' have any mispronunciations and people will recognize the name.

i like the name Ryan for a girl, unfortunatelly someone we closely know has used it.
I didn't read the other post since my computer is slow but saw on the outline that marie was a middle name somewhere.
Just for other options on spelling: Ryanne Rianne Ryann- I think Ryanne Maree is cute. without the traditional spelling. Good luck!

If the original spelling seems too masculine on its own, why not call her by a double name -- Ryan-Marie or Mary Ryan?

Wow. You are sort of taking a beating here. Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE the name for a girl and a lot of other people will too. I find that that unisex names are not too popular on this board. I have run several past the group here and they have all been shot down.

I love the spelling Ryan or Rian. Good luck!

Leila (yes, the one you KNOW) Funny to "see" you here!

Couldn't vote either. Sorry, don't like Ryan for a girl.

Well, thanks for your positive outlook! Its funny that most of those who saw this voted...its the ones that don't like it that respond. I have actually taken the time to email those who were kind and positive to thank them for keeping their unpositive feelings to themselves :) I am learning a lot though and am coming closer to keeping her name Ryan - plain and simple! We will see! Do you have a post?

The good news is none of these bashings have changed my mind!

Ick, none of the above. Ryan is fine. If your reasoning for changing the spelling is that Ryan looks like a boy's name, then *maybe* Rhyann...but changing the spelling doesn't change the fact that Ryan *is* a boy's name.

But what is the point of asking, if you do not want honest answers? If everyone who responds just says how great the name is, even if they do not think it so, what is the value of those "false" answers? If there are 18 negatives and 1 positive and you choose to focus only on the positive, what is the point of even asking? Certainly people should be polite. But they should also be able to be honest.

I dislike Ryan for a girl. The "Little King" meaning says it all. But if you use it, at least go with the proper spelling and make it Ryan Marie.
