I am not the original poster, but I did want to chime in on what you are saying. It is true that we shouldn't even ask about a name if we don't want honest answers. I have found, with this board however, that only certain types of names get a positive response. Since I like mostly names that would not get the "stamp of approval" here, I have started looking elsewhere for my opinions. I have found that there are a lot of people out there who love unisex, trendy, and even "cutsie" names.

I do still check in with this board and occasionally even post a poll. I love the different opinions. I just wanted to reassure Shannon that there are many, many people out there who will love her daughter's name. And for the record, I don't think all of the opinions have been polite. She didn't ask for opinions. She simply posted a poll for spellings and ended up getting the entire name bashed. From my perspective, she had already decided on the name and is just deciding how to spell it.

I am not trying to offend, just offering my own two cents.

I thank you for your suggestion and actually am becoming more and more clear on a spelling of Ryan Marie as well. I agree that opinions will come in all forms, I simply expected those who cared enough about my topic to respond, would somehow state their opinions kindly. I have gotten some saying they couldn't even vote. I don't find those helpful. I am actually finding in my searches that most even like the name and fortunately for me, I am comfortable enough with my decision to stick with it. I was just simply looking for alternative spelling suggestions. Whats most important is that my son and daughter call her that now and have such smiles which warms my heart!

Good luck to you and thanks again for your vote :)

Thanks Leila. You are very kind. I just responded to her as well and said that I am sticking with the name and just wanted spelling options. Amazing how people don't have fun with this but take this so seriously. Well, welcome to the internet! Please let me know what kind of names you come up with! Its a good thing I'm not easily shaken up and no...these opinions have not changed my mind :). We here love the name too!

You are absolutely correct that some people love this name - obviously, as it's popping up more & more frequently.

I love the name Ryan for a girl! No matter what anyone says on this board, I think the ultimate decision should not be affected by these comments.
If you love it, go for it! It's your child!!!
All the best.
