I want to name my little girl Elizabeth, but I don't want the "traditional" spelling. I was thinking of something different. I don't want her to be called Lizzy or Beth. I like either Liz, Ella, Eliza, Aliza or Libby.

My 2 other girls are Aleah and Kiaralyn so not the tradtional name or spelling for either of the girls.

Thanks in advance!

I have seen it spelled Elizebeth, I like, or maybe Elisebeth.

I honestly like the traditional spelling the best, so that's what I voted for. If I had to choose an alternate spelling, I'd go with Elisabeth. FWIW, we are considering Elizabeth (this spelling) for our baby too, if we have a girl. If we go with the name, and decide to use a nn, the nn will be Libby. To me, the spelling of the first name doesn't matter a whole lot where the nn is concerned. I'm the mom and I'm the one who will be saying what she will be called -- either Elizabeth, or Libby. My oldest child is Johnathan. No one ever calls him John, because I have stressed that his name is NOT John. He is to be called Johnathan, or Johnny as a pet name that I hope to phase out as he gets older. Ethan is only called Ethan. People will call your child what you want them to, and when they don't, you have the right as her parent to say "she is not Lizzy. We call her Libby" (or whatever you decide).
