You will be able to change your vote.

I prefer Eliana! But any spelling is pretty.

I agree with the others ... I would have definitely voted for Eliana if it were a choice. This is a name I've heard before, and the proper pronunciation is in fact El-ee-ah-na (whereas the spellings you have listed would be El-ee-ann-uh, which is different and sounds more like a combo/made-up name KWIM?). Not sure which one you're going for here, but I do love Eliana. Lovely. ;)

I agree with the pp that I would have voted for Eliana if it were an option. The only exception would be if you're going to pronounce the name as Elly-anna instead of Elly-ahna. If you're going to say Elly-anna, then Elianna gets my vote.

Hmm...interesting. Thanks for voting. The reason why I chose two n's (and it's obviously not set in stone yet as I haven't had the baby yet, due next week, and I don't even know what I'm having) is this:
The El part of the name is after my great-grandmother, Eleanor, hence the Eleanna choice, which more closely reflects Eleanor.
The anna part is after my mother's middle name, Ann, which more closely reflects -anna than -ana.
Her middle name would be Marie, after my middle name.
So it's a combination of myself, mother, and great-grandmother. We were all very close when grandma was alive.
I will certainly consider Eliana, as I can understsand your point about pronunciation. Let me know what you think now.

I really love that this name is a combination of family names. I think that will be a really special connection for your daughter when she's old enough to understand that.
As for the spelling, I honestly think that since you are altering their names anyway (ie not just calling her Eleanor Ann Marie) that you don't need to stick with the closest spelling. You and she will know where the name came from whether there are two Ns or one. (Also, Ana is the spanish version of Ann. So using Ana from Ann actually seems at
If I were combining Eleanor, Ann, and Marie, I would name her Eleanor Mariana (Marianna) or Eleanor Marian or Eleanor Marianne (Mariann). You could still call her Ellie, and I think that Eleanor is such a lovely, classic name! Mariana, Marian, and Marianne combine the other two names, without looking made-up or misspelled. I have to admit, part of my aversion to Eleanna Marie is that this AWFUL girl in my grammar school class was named Marie, and since then, I've associated very bad things with the name. I'm sure, though, that you're not awful at all! :-) And, Eleanna looks made-up, which I guess it is in a way, though for good reason. I grew up, though, with a name that was an altered spelling of my mother's maiden name, and though my made-up name was also invented for a good reason, it was still disheartening as a child not to be able to have pencils and door-hangers with my name on them. Just food for thought...
If you're stuck on Eliana, then I prefer this spelling for myself. Given that you're naming her after so many people, though, I guess I prefer Eleanna, because that most precisely reflects the source names.
Ellie is a great nickname! Let us know what you decide!
Thanks, everyone. You've given me a lot to think about, with very thoughtful reasoning. I think that I'm going to enlist the help of family as well with this decision. The only drawback is that I can't ask my mom, whose opinion I really would like on this one, because I haven't told her the name, as it's a surprise. I think that she'll be really touched. Thanks again, and I'll let you know!
