I adore Theodora (and the inverse, Dorothea!) They're classy, sweetly feminine without being saccharine and I love the nn's 'Dora' and 'Thea'!

I chose "other" and decided to explain here:

I don't "love" Theodora, yet I think it's MORE than "okay", lol...I think Theodora is a LOVELY name. :-)

You mention it potentially being old-fashioned, and yes, I agree-- I think it is old fashioned...but that I precisely part of the reason why I like it! :-) I wouldn't quite call it classic, only b/c it's not used a lot, yet it DOES have a classic feel to it...

I really like it a lot!

Best wishes to you!~

thank you for your thoughts & insights. i like Dora, Dorah would be nice new flair also, tho drawn to Thora. in the babyname dictionary is spelled Theodora.tho of course could be spelled with Thea. is a consideration. is odd, on similar name, dont really care for Theodore for a boy, but the flow of it for a girl, Theodora, is lovely to me.

Actually, my gut reaction was, "Theodora? How cool!"

Really, what a sophisticated and somehow very chic choice. I may have to steal it!

I think it is a wonderful old-fashion name. Theodora Jayne was my grandmothers name. They called her Teddie her whole life.
