Yeah, I was thinking that too. Not sure how I feel about it. I was watching Miss USA this year and there was a girl with that name (coincidentally she ended up winning). I don't know about you, but I have such a hard time with girl's names vs. boy's names. There aren't any girl names that I absolutely LOVE! But, I have two boy names waiting in the wings.
Here are others that I really like a lot (some probably a little too popular now though) Amy, Amber, Aubrey, Belinda, Cara or Kara, Dominique, Desiree, Erica, Gisele, Johanna, Janna, Kelsey, Kyndle, Larisa or Larissa, Mackenzie, Mallory, Molly, Natasha, Piper, Paige, Rhiannon, Reegan or Raegan, Samara, Torri, Tiffany, Teegan or Taegan, Whitney.
don't know if any of those would make an impact on you or not, none of them are so unusual that you wouldn't already have seen them anywhere, except maybe Kyndle with that spelling and pronunciation (like in next of KIN). I picked that one up where I knew a girl whose mom created that to be a twin to her brother Kyle
In a way I think it's cute... I dont' know, I like how it sounds (well, I like the Sh-ahn-di pronunciation)...almost Indian to me, which I think is lovely, but then when I look at how it's spelled, I dont' know what it is, but it just seems like something is not quite right...as though it's "Americanized" or something. But I don't know how to alter the spelling to make it look more "authentic"... I mean, I know that in some languages, "Si-" produces the "sh" sound, but I think Siandi sets itself up for mispronunciation.
A name that is similar is Chanda (or I guess it could be spelled Shanda)--I worked with a girl with this name. I thought it was nice.
Delaney is growing on me, but not dh. I have liked Reagan and Mackenzie for a long time, but dh definitely doesn't like Mackenzie. It will be tough with him because he likes somewhat American Girl plain names like Sarah and Emily. I like somewhat different names, but not too different or trendy. Right now my front runner for a girl is Elle (nn Ellie).
