Thank you all for your suggestions earlier! We have narrowed down to the above three and neither one of us can decide. I am also open to spelling suggestions. I want it spelled "right" as I a big stickler for that! I won't change the spelling of Anika if we go with that though, because that is the Hebrew version of it.

Elyse Belle sounds pretty to me and I think the two sound good together. That would leave us with Dailey, Eliana and Elyse.

To me, Teagan/Tiegan sounds very contemporary while Belle sounds very classic...Do they go together (and not like we would often say all three, but does it sound like one of the names just doesn't fit?) That would give us Dailey, Eliana and Teagan.

Anika Belle is my favorite. The only thing I wonder about is our daughter Eliana's nickname is Ani. But, we do call her Eliana a lot, too, and we may move away from the nickname later, especially if we choose Anika. That would leave Dailey, Eliana/Ani and Anika.

Thank you so much!!

I think all three are just beautiful, and I'm not surprised you're having a hard time choosing.

I usually see Elise spelled with an 'i', but I don't necessarily think it's wrong to spell it with a 'y.'

I voted for Elyse but I like it better spelled Elise. :) I think both are proper spellings though.

Elise (prefer this spelling) and Anika would be much too close to Eliana/Ani for me, so my vote would have to go to Teagan. I do love this name, FWIW, and it fits well with Dailey but isn't nearly as frilly as Eliana. I still think it's fine ... just an observation.

I also thought you were trying to find a longer fn to pair with Belle (or am I confusing you with someone else? LOL), so I was surprised to find short, mostly two-syllable names in your top three. ;)

Some similar options that might appeal:

  • Talitha - not really similar to Teagan, but a T nonetheless. Three syllables, Biblical (Aramaic), a bit more feminine and has the prominent L sound like Dailey and Eliana

  • Amalia - a-MAH-lia (not a-MEE-lia); A____a like Anika, but not another "Ani"

  • Mariska - "ka" ending like Anika, but offers nns Mari/Mary, Mika, Misha, Mia, etc., rather than "Ani"

  • Liora - also Hebrew, prominent L, feminine but not frilly, etc.

I could go on, but I don't want to make this any longer. LOL

I agree with PP that Elyse and Anika are too close to Eliana, nn Ani.

That's so funny that you mentioned the frill factor because it is something I thought about. Eliana is definitely more frilly than I prefer, which I think is why we use Ani (pronounced Ahn-ee). We chose Eliana because the Hebrew version of the name means "My God has answered me." Teagan definitely made Eliana stand out as more frilly, although it went great with Dailey.

Also, yes I thought about longer names and dh vetoed them. I loved Anika and to avoid the Ani match, I tried to get him to go with Danica/Danika... but apparently there is some Nascar racer named Danica. He doesn't even watch Nascar so I don't know why that was such a problem, lol.

But, the three shorter names weren't easily combined with

I like Teagan a lot, that would be my pick. I like Elyse, I don't like Anika at all - but I just don't see Belle as a nn for Teagan, not at all - and it doesn't flow right with Elyse at all - no 1-syllable middle will flow right with Elyse, a 2-syllable with the accent on the 2nd syllable, it just doesn't work

how about Teagan Brielle - it's close

or Elyse Brielle or Elyse Belinda

good luck
