whichever middle name has meaning is the one I would chose. As long as the initials don't spell anything funny!

The only one with any special meaning would have to be Isla, only because it's one letter off dh's great-grandmother's name, Iola. I'm just worried about the L sounds being too close in this combo, KWIM? If you say it normally - Abigail Isla - it sounds fine to me, but if you say it quickly it does kind of blur together to sound like Abigail Lila (not that it bothers me, because I actually like that name as well LOL, but I'm afraid it may sound too "muddled" or something, if that makes sense).

Someone on the other board mentioned that this one may also be too close to her nn Aila, but others have liked it for that very reason (because then Aila would make even more sense as a combination of her first and middle names abigAIL islA, or even the sounds of the beginning of Abigail and end of Isla if they were combined into one name - Abigail isLA = A-la). Don't know if I explained that right but hopefully you know what I mean LOL.

Anyone have any thoughts on this particular connundrum? TIA! ;)

Sorry, I know you love Geniveve (sorry if sp is wrong--I'm horrible at that) but I voted for Ainslie too. I love that combo. And that works with your "conundrum/problem" too. LOL. AbigAIL Ainslie. See? Works here too :P All the names look/sound adorable with Abigail. I really think you won't go wrong with any of em, this is just my 2 cents :)

Thank goodness for Andrea! You have no idea how mean people on other boards can be! LOL I've gotten a lot of "all those names are horrible, but I voted for (fill in the blank)." LOL Quite a few also pulling the old "I've never heard of that so it isn't a name" or "I've never heard of it so it must be tryndee" comments. Ick! Stick to iVillage. ;)~

Don't worry about hurting my feelings ... Ainslie wouldn't be on there if it wasn't under consideration (it's actually grown on me, so I've added it to my top five). ;) And yes, I did just notice the Aila thing with the A middle names! Seems like at least Aila was meant to be, even if we can't seem to settle on a middle name for the poor kid. :)

Anyway, thanks for some positive feedback. Always nice to hear/read.

LOL, Kelli I did the same thing. I was at some other baby name forum place, I don't even know which one or I would recommend everyone to stay far, far away from there!! You know how Ailey is pretty much my pick? Yeah, I got told that "wasn't a real name, I just took the "H" off Hailey but maybe it would look "more real" if I spelled it Alley. ROFL, Alley? like Alley cat? Like I wouldn't wanta be caught in an alley after dark by myself? Yep, I licked my wounds and came running back to ivillage. Ahhhh, back to intelligence!!

LOL No kidding? I can definitely see that happening ... it seems like on a lot of other sites if people aren't familiar with the name they just assume it must be a "tryndee" variation of some name they DO know. Otherwise, they say you made it up. ROFL (Especially funny, since not many names are technically "American" anyway, so obviously they have to come from somewhere ... what better place than your heritage?). Better than picking a random name out of a hat (or, worse, just picking one that everyone else is using for no reason other than that). Nice.

I, too, come running back every time. LOL
