Vivenne is beautiful. I am not sure about Emmelinne. It doesn't really look or sound like a name to me. It is also very close to Emma and Emily which are Top 10 popular names.
Maybe Emerson?
Nope, it's a real name just not very used. Here is a link to a real person who had the name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmeline_Pankhurst
Thanks for the suggestion but Emerson is NMSAA. I don't care for any "son" names.
NMSAA? What is that short for? I am trying to figure it out -- not my style at all, perhaps? I don't know, LOL.
So is Emmeline decided on for sure, and Vivienne is the one that is still up for debate?
How are you pronouncing it -- as in Emmie Lynn? Or Emma Lynn? Or is it a strong I as in LINE at the end?
You had it. lol. Not my style at all. Emmeline isn't officially decided it's just my favorite, right now. It's in memory of DH's grandfather, Emil, who passed away the weekend before Thanksgiving. We're saying it EM-eh-line.
Emma and Emily are out due to popularity and my brother's name is Emil so Emily would also be confusing.
I was wondering if the name Emmeline influences anyone's opinion on how to spell Vivian. Months ago I saw that the most preferred way was Vivian in another poll.
We'll take a list to the hospital and then chose the final first names once we see the babies but until then I try to figure out which names I really love.
Charlotte and Margaret are the middle names for family reasons and are final. Unless we just name both of them Rose. lol.
Not sure if it was intentional, but the Vivienne spelling would give all three girls 8-letter fns. ;) It's a nice, subtle link, so my vote went to that combo.
Are you pronouncing it exactly like Vivian, or putting more stress on the last syllable (viv-ee-EN)? I've generally heard Vivienne with the emphasized ending, so that might also affect which form you'd prefer.
If you decide on the Vivian spelling, you may want to go with Emeline with one M as well (not sure if it matters, but BTN actually lists this spelling as the feminine form of Emil, and Emmeline as a pet form of Emma). In keeping with the number-of-letters link, Annelise, Emeline and Vivian would have 8, 7 and 6 letters each.
On a sidenote, I like both the em-e-leen and em-e-line pronunciations -- not sure if you were aware of the first, although I know a pp asked how you were pronouncing it.
All wonderful choices, btw, and they go together beautifully! ;)

Thanks :) I knew about the em-eh-leen way, too. DH doens't care either way so I got to choose alone. I only have a preference for where the stress is put in ViviENne right now. My mom was saying it this way though.
I hadn't thought much of how visually similar Emmeline and Annelise
