DH is Italian and he has always liked this name. I thought we had settled on Juliet, but he brought up Ginevra the other day. What do you think (be honest, please!)

Thanks!
Danielle

I like Gianna or Giovanna, but not Ginerva.

It's nice. Juliet is lovely, but I think Ginevra definitely has appeal, especially since it is out of the common way.

No. It doesn't have a nice sound to me.

I don't like Ginevra but Love Juliet. I would spell it Juliette though.

Minerva is better than Ginerva and Juliet is the best of all three names.

Ginevra sounds like next generation birth control to me. "From the Makers of Ortho-Evra... it's Genevra!" I love Juliet but I too would spell it Juliette.

Sorry, but Ginevra sounds like a prescription medication for some horribly exotic gynecological disorder. I love Juliet (ever-so Italian!), but here are a couple others that your hubby may like: Ghislaine (French, pronounced Geez-lann), Giuliana (like Juliana, only spelled the Italian way), Lucia, Antonia, Arabella, and Francesca.

I sincerely like Juliet (I like a previous poster's spelling of Juliette, but it's French, so if you're going for Italian, then spell it the way you had it before). I threw in Ghislaine for fun, even though it's French, because it sounds exotic and starts with a G like Ginevra.

Good luck, congratulations, and let us know which you settle on!

I knew a precious little girl when I lived in Italy called Ginevra.

I'm in the minority but I adore Ginevra! It's the Italian name for Geneva so it fits in with the place name thing that's going on these days but it's far, far, FAR classier than Brooklyn or Paris, to me. Lovely, lyrical and gorgeously feminine, Ginevra tops 'em all!

Ginevra is not bad, but I love Juliet!
