Isobel Viola Jane.

We are set on the spelling of Isobel (prn. iz-oh-bell) so that babys daddy can call her Zoe Jane. Viola honors women on both sides of the family.

Your thoughts?

It's very pretty, but I thinking the spelling of Isobel will only cause her grief later in life.

I say its great, go for it!

I don't think that spelling of Isobel/Isabel presents any problems either. I know plenty of people who spell it Isobel and most people, here at least, seem to consider that as the English spelling and Isabel as Spanish etc.

I thought Isobel was a fairly common spelling of the name. I think it's cute.

I'd switch it around to Isobel Jane Viola _____ - flows better and a nn of Zoe Jane makes more sense that way.

I love Isobel...this is actually the way I prefer the name to be spelled. Isabelle looks like a sentence with no subject...as in, "So and So" IS A BELL. I much prefer Isobel. Not that I'm in favor of it, but I have met children named Izabel, so you could make it Izobel--that way, the Zoe is more obvious. I'd stick with the S, though, if everyone's not going to call her Zoe Jane.

Now, I'm not much for the two middle names thing, but I think I'd prefer it if her name was Isobel Jane Viola, because it makes more sense for Isobel and Jane to be beside each other, if you're going to call her Zoe Jane.

I don't know who the Viola is after, but have you considered alternatives? For instance, Violetta (Vee-Oh-Leh-Tah) is very pretty, and a little less reminiscent of a musical instrument. I think that would be pretty...Isobel Jane Violetta...but of course, the decision is yours.
