wdyt of this old name? My dh has an uncle named Wellsby. I wouldn't use it, but it is a cute old name you don't hear often.

Ohh, I like it. I think it would be a good fit with my son Hayes, but then again I might think its too matchy. Plus, I'm sure DH won't hate it, but won't love it either. But I am actually loving this more every minute.

It's funny how quickly this name grew on me - my first thought was, "No way," but within minutes, I found myself liking it. It's a cool name, really.

I think Wells is really cute, but Wellsby is sort of hard to say. I think the biggest problem, though, is the marked similarity to the name of the women's college, Wellesley. Not the greatest connotation for a boy! : )

I've been meaning to reply and say I actually like this, but it looks like it's missing something. Wellesby or Wellsbey look more visually complete (not that I'm trying to convince you -- I know it's just a family name you're not actually using -- just that that was my first reaction). ;)

It sounds like a name for a butler (no offense to your DH's uncle) - just nms at all.
