I cant believe how difficult a time my husband and I are having picking baby name. We found out this week that we are having a little girl. We are pretty set on the name Noelle. I just dont want to always think of Christmas when I hear the name. Do you like the name Noelle and would it always make you think of Christmas? Thanks for your imput. Kim at 20 weeks at 2 days.

Yes, Noelle would always make me think of Christmas ... especially on a little girl I knew was born during the holidays. It's pretty much the token name (or middle name) given to many, MANY little girls who happen to be born around that time, so it comes across as sort of a cheesy, filler FIRST name, if that makes sense (and I don't mean it to be rude ... I've seen this name mentioned a LOT lately, for the exact seasonal reason you've described). Why not give her a name you like regardless of what time of the year she'll be born? What name would you have liked to use if she'd been born in March or August or pretty much any other month, KWIM?

I knew a Noelle in school, and I never thought of Christmas when I heard her name. I just think it's a pretty name.

Actually, the name Noelle has me thinking about Christmas only when it is Christmastime, or when someone else makes the connection between the two! Otherwise, I just see it as a nice name. :-)

Thank for your help. My little girl is expected April 2nd and will be Noelle Marie. I think the more we hear the name it will sound less and less Christmas and it will fit. Ohh, I am feeling her move a lot! This is our first baby after 13 years of marriage and we are so excited. THANKS, KIM

I'm due Dec 27 and thought of Noelle and also Natalia--I really like them both and don't think it has to mean "Xmas".

If my big sister and I were going to have a little sister coming soon, we think the name Noelle would be great. You sound like the both of you will be great parents. You and your loving husband will make the right choice. You both know who we are and we will enjoy the addition to the family.

I think it's a beautiful name. I also think it's great that it's not too common. I really feel bad for kids that know 5 kids with the same name as them. Good choice!
