I don't like either of those, but I do love Olivia and Erin.

What is the motivation for these alternate spellings?

I love both Olivia and Erin, but I'm baffled as to why you'd want to change the spellings. Considering how established these names are, I think your daughter would spend her entire life correcting the spelling of her name. And rather than setting her apart from the other Olivias in her class, she'll just be "Alivia-with-an-A" rather than "Olivia B." or whatever. Because the spelling won't change the pronounciation. And with Aren you have the additional issue of "Aren-with-an-A" being similar to the common boy's name Aaron. It just seems like so much trouble, when really the original spellings are so much prettier anyway.

Or is the issue that you are trying specifically to find a name that starts with A and you can't find anything you really like?

When I read Alivia it made me think Olivia. I read Aren as AR-en. Is Aren supposed to be read as Erin (air- in.?)
