not every name needs a nickname - not even every 3-syllable name. if you're going to pick a unique, unusual name (unique and unusual in that you hear it extremely rarely, it is a known name, I went to high school with ONE) - then why batter it down to something as common and constantly heard as Emma or Ella - and Mel just isn't very flattering.

just get used to calling her Imelda. everyone else will if you do

Thanks for your comment! It gave me more confidence. :) I agree that it doesn't need a nick name, however, I mainly wanted to look into alternatives. Mainly out of pure curiosity and just in case she doesn't like it later on- we have had a lot of people say they really don't like the name Imelda Victoria, but we love it. :) Although, if I hear one more thing about shoes.... lol ;)

usually I don't like when both names end in A, but in this case the 4th syllable in Victoria separates it out enough - I think it sounds really good - Imelda Victoria, very classy sound to it

forget about the shoes - there are worse things to be known for than shoes - LOL

good luck
