- I have an unusaul name & I'm so glad I'm not another Mary or Kate or Maria
- No offense but come on I would hate to be the
- one out 3 Jennifers in class and be referred to by my last name at all times.
- I hope no one takes it personal.....
- Let's think outside the box>>> liven up with the names
- Let's get original!!
- Agree
- Disagree
- Don't care
- Uncommon is strange not original

I'd like to know whatyour parents' other choice was. Maybe that has alot to do with you feeling that way. I live in Miami Beach and honestly out here everything is about originality... I'm not saying to invent a crazy name just, good lord some names need to be expired. Social security should be like wow! A million of these in the world is more than enough.
Just my opinion!! Thanx for yours...
By the way my daughter is 9 and her name is Desiree Alexis it's not out there but at the same time no one else in her class has the same name. They don't have to say "which Desiree the skinny one or the fat one or Desiree + her last name.
Once again, everyone do not get offended it wasn't my intention to offend anyone I just was curious to know what others thought. Where your from also has alot to do with it, too. Where are you from??
The one thing I truly do dislike about my name is the fact that I have to spell it.. all the time! I've tried to pick names for my children that were uncommon but not unheard of and were spelled the way someone would expect to see them spelled. I have 18 year old boy twins, Leo & Simon and a 6 month old daughter, Josephine. None of their names is super common, (even now) yet noone's ever had problems spelling them. If I go to the doctor's with Josie, the nurse doesn't have to ask me how to spell her name when I check her in or when making out the card with the next appointment time on it. I've never had to spell the boys' names anyplace either. They've happily gone through school not having to spell their names for their teachers nor have they been one of three Leos or Simons in their classes. THAT'S the sort of thing I look for in a name!
To me, a creative name choice is one that's familiar by sight but not unspellable or unpronouncable. Jessamine's way more creative to me than Haylee.. is the example I usually use to explain how I name. :) I do also have to spell my last name.. Mac, not Mc! so it's bad enough spelling one, why make them spell both!
