LOVE both names, and together they are darling! My hubby would never go for Amelia, or it would be on my list!
good luck!
Sorry, nat, but dh nixed our entire list in favor of starting over completely! (There is another post with more detail on this). I think he felt bad about doing it, though, because he suggested Amelia as a sort of a concession to me. He knew I had liked it when we were considering first names a while back, and though he didn't like it for a first name - mainly because none of the nns worked with our ln at all and he preferred Abigail anyway - he actually thinks it would work great as a mn with Abigail. Thus the reasons for my poll. ;)

You would be better off switching the names, in my opinion, to Amelia Abigail McCormick, and here's why I think that:
I have said this combination over and over trying to put my finger on why it sounds so awkward and it comes down to the fact that when it's said all at once, the "a" sounds that begin and end Amelia have a very strange effect.
The name becomes something like Abigaila Meliam Icormick. All the syllables fall apart because the stress on the middle syllable of Amelia surrounded by the two very soft "a" sounds pulls the name to pieces. The consonants at the end of Abigail and beginning of McCormick want to stick in the center. Abigail Amelia is just sing-song enough in cadence for the effect to double when said out loud. AB-i-GAIL-a-MEL-ia.
Amelia Abigail doesn't have that problem. But if you're tied to Abigail for a first name, maybe try another form of Amelia. Abigail Delia or Abigail Amelie have much more natural cadences.
