Could be very cute with nn Laine or Lainey.

I really like this name. I hadn't thought of it before. You mentioned in another post that you are getting tired of "A" names. If you like the nn Laney (or Lainey) this name could make your older girls happy and still let you call her something that doesn't start with "A".

I think Adelaine nn Laney is just beautiful.

I have to laugh -- this is my #1 choice for a girl's name. But my husband says it sounds made up. I love Addie or Laine for nicknames!

My husband said the same thing - "you made that up didn't you?" I haven't found it on any baby name site, but I see Adelaide and I just like it better with an "n"! Well maybe there will be two little Adelaines in the world!

Good luck!

I just showed your post to my DH to convince him that obviously I didn't just make it up!

I loved Addie as a nickname, not thinking about the fact I gave my sister Abigail (Abbie). And I like Laine as a nn.

I think there is every ending of the Ade names -- Adelyn, Adeline, Adelaide -- laine isn't that far behind or too obscure. My sister thinks we should do Adelynn but still call her Laine, but I hate that -- like Peggy from Margeret, Bob from Robert...where do they come from.

We're thinking Adelaine Paige.

Other names we're considering: Audrey/brey, Addien (A-D-en), Edelaine, Delaine...but I'm only 5 weeks along. We have a full boy's name picked -- but I'm not sharing it. I did that once with Aiden and look what happened :)

Our son's name is Alexander.
