Not even pg just yet but ttc, but we have always loved the name Aidan... for either boy or girl.

What do you think of the spelling Aidyn for a girl? What middle names would work??

Maybe you haven't been around this board much, but this is the kind of place to come to get honest opinions about names. If you didn't want honesty (and no, it wasn't harsh- you are totally over-reacting), you shouldn't have asked.

Honestly, I think it's a bad choice for a girl because it is such an incredibly popular boy's name right now. I'm actually a fan of crossover names, but Aiden is all boy to me. I do think the spelling Aden makes it a little more acceptable, since you're obviously set on it.

If you're set on this name, then don't ask people their opinion. Whatever you name your child, all that really matters is that you and dh agree. Good luck,

Shannon

I want honest opinions, but not in a harsh manner.. not to mention... I came here looking for an opinion on a name, not on my reaction. I think I will just stick to the TTC board, where people are very nice, supportive and hoenstand not at all argumentative

I'm sorry, but I think:

1. it looks made up

2. it follows the "-yn" trend WAY too closely. (take a look at the boards, there's "-yn" ALL over the place: Gracyn, Taryn, etc)

3. Why use a mannish name for a girl when there are so many beautiful feminine names out there?

4. it just doesn't look pretty when it's down on paper (or computer screen). It kind of reminds me of the poster that commented on the name "Ephrem"-- not that it's a bad name, it's just a shame that it doesn't look nice.

Hun, when EVERYone is spelling names "differently" by using "-yn", it's not different anymore!
