Dale is my dh's and ds's mn. I don't really like it. When my dh and his ex announced that they were naming ds Christopher Dale, I begged them not to. LOVE Christopher, don't love Dale. In any case, they were calling ds "Junior" and I hated that! When they split up and Christopher's mother left the area, the first thing I did was immediately stop calling that poor boy Junior. I haven't called him anything but Christopher since.

That was a little off-subject wasn't it? LOL

Dale was the given first name of my grandmother (whom I consider my mother, because she raised me) but as an adult she added a name, and became Virginia Dale, because she thought just Dale was too boyish.

I think it's a hearty, strong name for a boy ... the only other woman I've heard of named Dale, was Dale Evans. I say this even though I am seriously considering making Dale my dd's middle name - if this baby is a girl (please, please let it be!).

Best of luck to you.

My father's name was Dale (he passed away a little over 2 years ago), I knew another Dale (the father of one of my best friends), and those were the only two Dale's I ever knew.

My father was a wonderful man, so naturally I like the name. The other Dale I knew was a good person as well, so it brings to mind positive thoughts for me. It's very unique. We are actually planning on using Dale as the middle name if we have a boy.

Best of luck in making your decision!

Dale makes me think of chipmunks (as in Chip & Dale), and also makes me think of Chip'n'Dales dancers. I think Dale is an okay middle name, but not first name. Also, there was a female model named Dayle Haddon.

best wishes!

Dale is my father-in-law's name, and my husband really wants to name our child after him if it's a boy. I'm really not crazy about the name, but I can't think of any other boy names that I really love. I'm trying to suggest using it as a middle name, but he really wants it as a 1st name. Oh well, I have 6 months to decide. Thanks for the input! Heather

I know a Dale. He is probably in his early 40's. He is very smart and dare I say quite attractive in a sort of rugged Sean Connery kind of way. He owns a motorcycle. One of his hobbies. Ooh la, la! Good name.
