I like Lilian/Lillian or even Liliana, but Lilianne just doesn't appeal to me visually, and lil-ee-ANN, when heard, kind of just sounds like a mispronunciation of Lilian anyway, if that makes sense.

I voted like it, but I really like Liliana (with 1 N, so that it is a pronounced lily-AWN-a, not lily-ANN-a) and am not so found of it with the -nne ending.

What about just Lilian, or Lilias? Lilith? All those could easily have the nn Lily, or you could just name her Lily.

Yeah I think I agree. I don't love Lilian, I like Liliana but we have an Italian last name and I didn't want there to be too many vowels. We will probably go with Lily. Thanks for your input!

np! Lily is such a pretty, yet simple name all on its own! It definitely deserves more than just nickname status. ;-)

Lily itself is lovely, but I actually much prefer Liliana -- the Italian form -- if your ln is also Italian! ;) I understand if it doesn't sound quite right with your ln, but in general, pairing it with some of the Italian lns of friends and family (Marino, Ribisi, Benedetti, Colombo, Romanelli, etc.), it sounds great. Even an -a ending ln sounds fine in this case, since such endings are common for female Italian fns, so something like Liliana Piazza doesn't sound repetitive or sing-songey ... just natural. ;)
