Are you pronouncing this "mair-ick" or "mahr-ick"? If you're going for "mair-ick", I like the name spelled Merrick better...There's also Marek, which is a Polish form of Mark, and I believe (but I'm not sure) it's pronounced "mahr-ick".

I'm sorry, but this name reminds me of the historical "elephant man" who had facial disfigurements... his last name was Merrick. If it's not a family name (if it is, then I like it ok) perhaps try Derek, Eric, or other kicky surnames like Mason or Mitchell.
good luck,

I used to know someone named Merrick. More of the Meh-rick pronunciation that Mare-rick. I knew him in high school, and he was very nice to me, regardless of the fact that we were on very different levels of the popularity scale :o)
So, the name gives good vibes to me, and I really like it.

well wasn't Marrick/Merrick the elephant man's name? I saw that movie and it made me cry. when i saw your post it was the 1st thign that flashed into my mind.
Maybe it's just me or maybe this name needs another decade to distance itself from that poor man.
