Sorry, but I wouldn't use this for a number of reasons.

1) Kaitlyn itself is very overdone. I know at least a dozen, just counting those that are children. And then there are the Katherine's and Catherine's who often go by the similar nn's Katie or Katie, and then those who are named just Kate or Katie. If you DO use Kaitlyn, I would use the proper spelling- Caitlin. I think it looks a lot classier and separates her from the rest of the trendy K names.

2) Lainey is very nicknamey. I love Lainey as a nn for Elena, Elaine, Adelaine, etc., but as a mn, I would use Laine instead. Even better, a name with real meaning to you- a family name, a name from your culture, a place name (where you were married, where you honeymooned, etc)

3) kaitLYN LAINey is a bit repetitive in sound. The repetition of the lyn/laine just doesn't really work in terms of flow.

Hope this helps,
-Nikki

Kaitlyn is fine. Even Lainey is fine, though very cutesy/nn-ey. But I definitely wouldn't pair the two. The -lyn/Lain- sounds back-to-back are just very awkward.

Perhaps a combo of some of these would also appeal?

Caitlin
Caitriona
Catriona
Catrina
Catrin
Caterina
Katerina
Katia

Delaney
Delaine
Elaine
Elena
Helena
Lane
Lana
Madelaine
Adelaine

FWIW, I love the more traditional Caitlin spelling, and have a Kaitlyn myself (long story ).

In one of my classes of 30 I have four Kaitlyns, some different spellings but the same name. That's just one class. I call them by their last names. Need I say more? Too popular. The other name, well, I'm not a fan of the ee sound at the end of names.
