I think it could be nice, except for the Nayl part. Kind of makes me think of a nail (hardware, finger, etc.). Another similar name you might like is Neala (think of the boys name Neal with an "uh" sound at the end ... there are other spellings as well). Just a thought! :)

I am not sure how you are pronouncing that. Is it Nay-la or ny-la ++more of an "I" sound??

I have the same question as the previous poster... I've known a few Nayla/Nailas, pronounced nye-lah. It is a 'real' Arabic name technically pronounced nah-ee-lah, but with an English speaker the diphthong does come out more like nye-lah, which seems to be the standard North American pronunciation in my experience. I mention this because one of your voting options 'it's nice, cute, very new' suggests that you may be thinking of it as a made-up name. I expect many people would pronounce it nay-lah, what with the popularity of Kayla and Layla, if that's what you were looking for, but to anyone familiar with the Arabic name (and it's not just used by Muslims, the girls I knew were Eastern Orthodox and in Catholic school) that would sound like a mistake. I do like Naila (nye-lah), but as an obviously ethnic name not in general use, I would probably only recommend using it if you have some connection to the geographic areas in which it is used (the Middle East, Eastern Europe, perhaps North Africa) or the religious traditions of Islam or Eastern Orthodoxy. If not, I would consider Neala (as suggested by a previous poster), Layla (also Arabic, but in widespread, cross-cultural use), Kyla, etc.

I voted "not sure" because when I first saw the name, (in my dyslexia) I automatically pronounced it: Nalya (Nal-yah). I really like Nalya, but unsure of how to pronounce Nayla.
