I actually voted white, though I could see it on a number of little boys (including Jewish, as previously mentioned). However, after reading your later post, thought it was worth mentioning that Abram would be one that would appeal to many religous parents (not just Jewish, but Christian, Catholic, etc.), so I wouldn't find it odd on your son at all. In fact, there seems to be a trend toward more old-fashioned or less-used Biblical names at the moment, so Abram would fit right in IMO.
It's rare that both parents love a name equally right from the start, as you do. I wouldn't hesitate to use it! ;)

Oh no, do you think it will be viewed as a trendy name? Remember, I'm the one with the Hayden who goes by Hayes becuase I can't stand trendy names. If I were to go with Abram do you think people will think its another trendy name?

Certainly not! ;) I didn't mean to imply it was trendy at all. There can be a trend toward a certain style of name without every (or any) name it applies to being trendy. Naomi, Tabitha, Miriam, Thaddeus, Malachi and Solomon are some other old-fashioned Biblical names that aren't used as commonly (none are in the top 100), but I wouldn't consider a single one of them trendy in the least!
Just a thought, btw, but you can also shorten Abram to Bram (just realized whom I was speaking to, and couldn't help but think how sweet Hayes and Bram are together).

Oh I'm loving Abram as a brother for Hayden.
I don't think Hayes and Abram are too close.
That was actually part of my reasoning for suggesting Bram as the nn, rather than Abe (though I didn't want to ruin Abram for you). ;)
I figured since Hayden goes by Hayes almost exclusively (from what I understand from past posts), Hayes and Abram or Hayes and Bram sounded fine together. It's only Hayes and Abe I have a problem with, really. The single-syllable long-A-sound names are just a tad too similar for me, but if you could talk dh into the nn Bram I'd be sold.

OMG! I remember that show! My sister's favorite.
That is too adorable. Guess you've always liked the name (or a form of it) ... you just didn't realize until now. ;)
If you don't plan on using Abe yourself, I think you're safe. For the record, I think it's rather rude when people simply assume a nn without hearing the parents or child use it first (I'm sure you know that already ), and many children are using their full names these days anyway, so I don't think it would be too much of a problem. If you hear people trying to shorten it very often -- and if Abe and Hayes ends up bothering you -- you could always correct THOSE people and say something like, "We generally don't shorten his name, but if you'd like to we prefer Bram." Something to that extent. You're making it clear that he goes by his full name, but offering an alternative in case they insist on trying to nn him (as some people do). Just a thought.
