What goes with Jeremiah?

My husband and I love the name Jeremiah but cannot think of a middle name. If we can't think of one, I think we are going to name the baby Nicholas Ryan. I like Nicholas too, but Jeremiah is my favorite....Can you think of something good? Jeremiah ___________ Johnson.

If you honor family you can't go wrong - so maybe an uncle or grandfather has a name you could use. However, if you don't like any of those options I would suggest something short and not a J.

My husband and I decided a couple years ago that our first son will be Jeremiah David. We figure if he doesn't like Jeremiah he can always go by JD or David, both safe backups. We'll see what we're expecting this time around.

I'd go with something simple, like Lee.
OR... he could be Nicholas Jeremiah! :)
I am showing my age, but there was a popular movie in the 70s about Jeremiah Johnson... he was a mountain man. It was a good movie, and I don't think the connotations are negative, but some people might mention it if you name your son Jeremiah. Plus, Robert Redford played the main character! Here is the synopsis from wikipedia...
"Jeremiah Johnson (1972) is a film about the mountain men who hunted for furs, primarily beaver, during the first part of the 19th century. It was directed by Sydney Pollack, and starred Robert Redford as Jeremiah Johnson and Will Geer as Bear Claw. This movie is said to have been based in-part on the life of the legendary mountain man Liver-Eating Johnson. It is also based on the novel Mountain Man by Vardis Fisher."
Since Jeremiah is three syllables and Johnson is two syllables, I would go with a one syllable middle name so it flows well.
Jeremiah Blake Johnson
Jeremiah Luke Johnson
Jeremiah Zane Johnson
Something like that.
Good luck!
