Cadence gmv! It's not overused, but still sounds classic and beautiful! I love it!

I don't like any of them except Faith. Savannah and Shayla are okay though. The rest are awfully trendy and despite popular sentiment, cadence is a word relating to a rhythmic beat or motion, not a name.

ITA, especially about Cadence. Every time I see the word (much less as a NAME), I think military cadence, you know -- "Ten Hut, left, left, left, right, left" LOL! If someone were looking for a musical term to use as a name for their baby, I can think of much prettier ones, like aria, allegro, sonata, etc.

I had to laugh because that's what I always think of too. Marines marching and calling cadence.

I love the name Shayla. I used to know someone with an absolutely darling toddler girl named Shayla Grace.

Well, if I HAD to vote for one of those, it would probably be Maddison, though spell it Madison. That name is awfully trendy right now. I don't know why Cadence is such a popular consideration on this board. It makes me think of my husband in Marine boot camp! For the musical names, Melody is also pretty. I wouldn't use Sonata though... Sonata is a sleeping pill! Most people probably wouldn't know that, but it would be odd to those who did (which would at least be most people in the medical profession, let alone anyone who takes it). And Allegro I think would be for a boy, but Allegra is an allergy pill. Same thing... okay, can you tell I work in a pharmacy??? I just know I personally would think of the drugs whenever I heard that as a name.

But I don't understand this Cadence thing...

LOL! You have a point! It just realized that Sonata is the name of a vehicle too.

So I guess the moral of this story is to not use musical terms as names!

Well I appreciate everyones opinions. My husband and I have pretty much chosen Faith Carenna if our baby is a girl, we had this poll because of friends we have who have little girls and wanted to know how they ranked, except the Shay names those too are mine because I always liked the idea of having a Shay, but we like Faith better. I have to use different names than most of the people on this board because names like Sophie, Rose, Grace, Katherine, Lily, Emily etc. I can't stand because I work in a nursing home, and when I hear these names I think of the little old ladies at the home, not cute sweet little girls of 2004. I also can't do Rebeca, Amanda, Sarah, Natalie etc. Because these are the names of people of my generation, like to my mom, Donna, Barb,Karen etc. would be the names of her generation and she named her 3 daughters, Rachel, Amanda and Jessica. To me, no one is creative any more, they have to pick names from previous generations instead of moving forward. That is why my husband and I want new fresh names. Faith has been around for a long time, but never really used. So you may think my names are trendy, but most of the names on this board I find old and dull.
