No, I pronounced it like Lynn-ay-uh. I used to work for a dentist whose DD is named Linnea.

When I see it in writing, I do make the linea nigra association (my midwife pronounces it the same LOL), although I think it's a lovely name otherwise.

As evidenced by Hanna's rant a while back, however, many mispronounce Linnea as li-NAY-a (or something along those lines), so assuming you're pronouncing it correctly, bear in mind that the results of the poll may be skewed by many who are not. :)

if it was spelled different I wouldn;t think of it. I know one girl who spells it Lynnaea.

Maybe you could spell it Lynea for less Linnea Nigra confusion?
