I have a cousin who named her son Kenton, I had never heard this name before and still haven't heard it agian. WDYT??? I have only found it in one or two baby books so I do not think it is that common but everyone loves it and he doesn't seem to have problems with people spelling it, etc. I think it sounds nice with Kortlyn. I hope all goes well with your pregnancy! We are trying now and I am nervous b/c we have had 2mc already. They can't give a reason why though. HTH!
Good luck!!

I do like that name and I'll put it on my list. I'm sorry about your miscarriages. My friend had three in a row and is pregnant again for the fourth time. She is like 36 weeks now and will be having her baby boy very soon. She had low progesterone and had to take prometrium until she was 12 weeks. Thanks, Felicia

Hi there, I understand your sentiment, and agree that to say that your choices are "horrible" is not very nice.

I would like to point out though, that a LOT of expectant mothers like to change the spelling to be "unique", so that practice IS, in actually, pretty COMMON. That's pretty much why I don't really like cre8tiv spellings. Aside from the fact that, at times, some "different" spellings can come across as uneducated or juvenile (not saying that about the names you chose, just in general)-- but in addition, it's VERY common for people to think they are being "different" by changing the spelling of a name... so in reality, it's not all that different...

Best wishes to you, and I hope you don't take offense to my post...

Hi,

I didn't take offense to your post and I understand what you are saying. I know it's not unique to just change the spelling, but I think that sometimes it can add a little flair. Perhaps a name can make a parent look uneducated if the spelling is really off; however, if the spelling works, then I think it's okay. I like traditional spellings for names, too, but I've chosen to change some of the ones I listed because I haven't liked very many traditional K names. Anyway, I respect your opinion and appreciate your way of telling it. The reason I changed some of the spellings beyond just the K was only to see if the names are likeable spelled that way. I honestly had no idea that some people were so against changing the spelling of names. The ones that I was seriously considering are the ones that have been voted on the most, which are Kyler and Kaleb. I wanted to see how others would respond to the names I had chosen, but ultimately it is, of course, my decision. I appreciate all the feedback I've gotten, I just felt that some were given in an unnecessary way. Thanks, Felicia

Yes, from your list, I voted on Kaleb and I think that it is one of the ones where a different spelling actually works. I like it, it's a nice alternative but yet doesn't look "out there" or mispelled, etc. Kyler is one that I'm not really feeling right away but yet I get the sense that it could grow on me... :-) Best of luck, whatever you decide....

None of these names are my style, at least spelled this way. I voted for "Kaleb" since you didn't give a "none" choice, but I prefer it spelled Caleb.

Generally, when I see names with lots of Ks and Ys, I think of the current trend to take boys names and feminize them that way. Honestly (and I'm assuming you want honest opinions), I think most of the names you posted look like what people are starting to name girls, and that might be OK with you, I just wanted to point it out.

I like Caleb, Collin, Colby and Conner.

Other K names to consider would be Keith, Kent, Kevin, Kenneth, Kenton.

Good luck!
