I love the name Susanna but prefer (out of your middle name choices) Rose with it, I also love Amelia but prefer it with Rose or Marian. That's why I voted for Frances Rose, which I think is really pretty!

Thanks! Pretty much any of the first names would work with Rose as the middle name I think. I still haven't been able to fully convince Hubby that Frances would be a good little girl's name, but there's something I really like about it that I can't quite put my finger on.

I think you've got some weird matchups

for instance Susanna Barbara - both ending in A, they don't flow - and Amelia Pamela - same deal, even worse yet with the lia and la

I think you need to decide which middle name to use based on how it sounds with the first name, not necessarily have a different middle choice for each first name choice

Frances Rose sounds OK together - Frances Barbara would also work, Frances Marian would also work, Frances Pamela is iffy

Susanna Rose sounds great, Susanna Marian sounds pretty good, Susanna Pamela or Susanna Barbara do not

Jane (wow, this soooooo plain/common) - anyway, Jane Marian is do-able, not great; Jane Rose is out of the question with both being 1 syllable; Jane Barbara is OK, not great, Jane Pamela is OK, not great - to be truthful, none of them flow well with Jane
- the thing that WOULD flow is Jane Amelia

on Amelia - Rose is the only middle choice that sounds right there - Amelia Rose - Barbara and Pamela get nixed for ending in an A, and Marian just doesn't work with that M coming off the M in Amelia

if I were plucking one combo out of all I just wrote it would Amelia Rose

good luck

I voted for Susanna Barbara because I like the fn best of your choices. However, I don't really care for Barbara as a mn for Susanna. I think Susanna Rose or Susanna Marian sound MUCH better! Maybe you could post a poll just on fns only. Then, after you've chosen a fn, do a poll for a mn.

I voted for Jane Marian - I think it sounds so lovely. Jane is not plain or common at all IMO.

Good luck,
Brooke

I like Amelia but I don't like it with Pamela. What about Amelia Rose?

Well, it isn't that popular right now but it definately fits in with all of the little Eleanors, Emmas and Charlottes that are out there. It was in the top 20 names in the in the 1920's with names that are popular today such as Elizabeth and Anna so I think it is fresh and unique without being way out in left feild. And if you really love it, good luck in trying to convince DH!

Can I change a combination? How about Amelia Rose?

I like some of the names listed, but the flow with the middle names isn't great.

Frances Rose got my vote. A completely wonderful combo. ;)

I also love both Amelia and Jane, but I'll comment below to keep this short. LOL

Susanna Barbara -- I like Susanna, but like the other three fn choices a bit more. I agree with the others that I wouldn't pair a fn and mn that both end in "a," however.

Jane Marian -- the N endings of both Jane and Marian aren't ideal either, but this actually doesn't sound bad to me. If you wanted, you could also use something like Jane Rosalind, rather than Rose, or even Jane Mara/Maria/Mariah/Mariam/Mariana ... all forms of Marian. I LOVE Jane, btw, and thought the comment about it being "plain and common" or whatever was hilarious. That may have been true back in 1946 (when it was #35 -- the highest I think it's been for the past 100 years!), but the most recent stats have it at an UNcommon 466!!! FWIW, Amelia was #84 ... and I don't remember her making the same comment about that one.

Amelia Pamela -- like Susanna, I wouldn't pair Amelia with a mn ending in "a." Love Amelia, however. ;)

I agree; I have a first name many people might think is "plain" or "common" (Mary) but I like it for the same reasons I like Jane; everybody knows how to spell and pronounce it immediately, but even so, I've only known a few people in my lifetime who were my age with the same name.
