I think Calvin is an awesome name and I don't hear it all that much. I love Cal as a nn.

I'm the sole voter for John Richard! That is my son's name. He was named after my dad (John) and my fil (Richard). We call him Jack. He is nine and was on the beginning of the Jack popularity!

Good luck.

I picked Calvin Richard also. I think it's a good, strong name and definitely not used much. I do think of John Calvin and Calvin & Hobbes (who was named after John Calvin), but that's not necessarily a bad connotation. I also like the nn "Cal". There was a very dear man at my church who went by Cal, although it was short for Charles, and I have very good associations with that name.

I really like the idea of using family names. I think it would be neat to call him Crownhart Richard.....and still call him Hart.

I voted for Calvin Richard. But I don't really like any of them (srry). They don't seem to go together well. If you don't mind Richard as the first name I would suggest Richard Cole. But that's only my opinion.
