Wow, tough poll ... I may have to think about it a bit! :)

While I like Avery Claire (much more than Lynn, if that counts LOL), it does have the sound of Aver Eclaire, if you KWIM (I'm not sure how obvious it is, but I noticed the same sound right away when someone suggested Claire as a mn for Devanie last year, so it jumps right out at me LOL).

Delaney Kate is ok (although I think the nn Laney is even cuter for when she's small), but Delaney Katherine sounds a bit better, probably because it avoids the two long A sounds in a row that you get with Kate.

Laine Katherine is also ok, but I do prefer Laine as a nn for Delaney/Delaine(y)/Delaina/Delanie.

Elle Katherine is my least favorite of the bunch. It doesn't flow that well and is a bit too popular next to your other choices, what with all the little Elles and Ellas running around (not to mention the many others, such as Isabelle, that might use Elle as a nn).

HTH! :)

Thanks for your response. You brought up a lot of things I hadn't thought about. Sounds like you still like Avery Claire or Delaney Katherine the best (I think those were my two favorites anyway). We are trying for something that is somewhat unusual (but not too off the wall) since we have a VERY common last name.

Yup, I'd say those two are my favorites (assuming the Eclaire part won't bug you). ;) You have some great options there! Good luck in choosing! :)

Avery Claire sounds quite nice. I wouldn't normally like the name Avery, since people seem to treat it like it's a middle name for "fancy girly-girl" names (Nicolette Avery, Victoria Avery, Julianna Avery, Emmalissalinabellanna Avery...) but paired up as a first name with Claire like that, it just sounds down-to-earth and good.

that's good thoughtful insight,
probably need to watch out for
first names ending with "d"..Claire
(made me smile though) (Ida Claire)

all your name choices are lovely! love Avery!..and love Claire!
