Okay..I have thought all along that I would use Kipp as a middle name. It is my MIL's maiden name. But now I am thinking of using my great grandmother's middle name Von instead. So which one do you like better?

Thora Lily Kipp (MIL's maiden name)
or
Thora Lily Von ( great grandmother's middle name)

By the way my great grandmother's first name was Lily. We have used four names from my hubby's side with our three son's already and only once from my family.

Thanks for the input.

Holly

I really like Kipp. I think it's a great name, and I think it's a nice way to honor another important person in your daughter's life. Von is nice too, but I think that since you are already using Lily, it's be nice to include Kipp as well.

(Btw, I love Thora - such a great under-used name!)

Kipp, as you are already using part of your GG's name by using Lily.

Kipp. Von looks like you are waiting for more name after it!

HI Holly -

I think I would use Thora Lily Von. It seems to flow nicely.

I would go with Thora Lily Von. It sounds really nice. Too me, Kipp is boyish.

I agree with the pp ... while both seem pretty surnamey, Kipp seems more boyish (since I have known boys with this name). Also, I don't recall if you mentioned your ln in the post, but Von would flow more naturally into it (since it pretty much means "from the family of" and often precedes the ln). Just a thought!

Ps. Also wanted to add that I adore Thora! ;)
