For a boy? I really really like Philip, but "Page" for a boy? He's totally gonna get teased. YOU may not care if ppl say it's a "girls" name, that's fine. You're an adult. you can handle it. As a child, he won't. Please don't do that to him!

Well, I don't see it that way, I think that if a child is going to be teased, they're going be teased, and it's not really about their name (excluding maybe playful teasing), if I named him Jacob instead of Page, he'd still be the same person, maybe a jock, maybe a geek, but I don't think that the same child named Jacob, instead of Page, would be any less likely to be teased, if kids want to tease him, they'll find a way

are we talking about a girl here? because if we are, both are those middle names would be cruel to give to a girl.

If we're talking about a boy, the name Page would be very cruel to give to a boy.

so I'm not voting either way.

Hmmm.... really? You think kids are not teased for their names? Gosh. I wish I had grown up where you did. :)

Yes, but why not take steps to help alleviate it? Do you really want him to be labeled as a "fag" and a "sissy" for having a girly name? You don't think that will happen??? I've seen it happen to kids that I grew up with. One of the boys was Kelly and the other one was Tory. They never got picked for partners, never got invited to play basketball after school, always got shoved and tripped in the halls, etc... And how do you think they turned out as teenagers b/c of all that?

I know kids will tease. It's natural. But a child's name is their identity. That's bashing them to the core. That's bashing everthing that they are, their very being, their soul. It's a lot easier to deal w/teasing b/c they have glasses or too many moles/freckles than it is their name. You seem to have a very "who could care less" attitude. This isn't about "you" and "your tastes", it's about your son, his life, and his identity!

I reread my last msg, and I'm really sorry that it came out a little harsh. But I've lived thru it myself and I've seen kids go thru it. I guarantee it'll tear your heart out to see your son go thru it, too. Do you like the name Gage?

I think I'm just going to agree to disagree, we can't all have the same opinion, and at least for me (and my child/ren), this is the right choose, but I do take some offence to you saying that I have a "who could care less" attitude, because I certainly do care, a great deal, about my child/rens feelings

And to Carrivy

Ivy is a very lovely name, and I think you've proven, that any name, no matter if it's a classic or not, can, and will be teased, also Page isn't a family name

Thanks for the opinions (even if I disagree, it's always nice to have other prospectives :)
