Hi,
I hope you have voted already. If you have would you mind answering this question?

Does your vote change after I share the following information with you?

1. sibs are Lillian Ariana and Naomi Rochelle
2. the names are to honor grandpas John and Gary

If you would please share what your vote was, if you would change your vote after knowing the above info, and if you would change what would you change your vote too!

I know I'm asking alot! Thanks for taking the time.

I voted for Ian, but I would change my vote to Owen knowing you have a dd Lillian.

Hi, Karen. Glad to hear you've gotten things narrowed down (to some great choices, might I add). ;)

Normally I would have been torn between Owen and Ian (although Owen is much more popular in my area, so that might have swayed me anyway), but I did remember your "namesakes" John and Gary before reading the second post, so my vote easily went to Ian. I know the reasoning behind Owen, since some sites/books list it as another form of John, but even assuming it's a valid one, it's not nearly as "obvious" as Ian/John, KWIM? Love it! ;)

I already replied (but didn't want to edit to add this in case you'd already read my previous response), but anyway ...

I totally forgot the whole Lillian/Ian issue, and even said Lillian, Naomi and Ian out loud without noticing it! So I was wondering -- is Lillian called by a nn at home (Lily, Lila, etc.)? I know it's probably come up in the past, but I can't recall. If she is, then I don't see a problem with the sib set. Sure, Lillian and Ian are similar, but you generally won't be saying the two together that often ... when you have three children you usually find yourself referring to one child individually or all of them together (so Lillian, Naomi and Ian, with Naomi breaking up the similar sounds in the other two). So the real problem is if it would get confusing yelling for -- or at LOL -- one and having it sound like the other, but if you were calling, say, Lily or Ian it wouldn't be that big a deal.

HTH

Thanks! I really like both options. There are reasons for each (Owen and Ian) why I would lean towards it but at this point it's up to DH ... I can't wait to find out what his name is!

Yep that is the issue... Lillian goes by Lily or Lillian. She writes her name Lillian. But as you said yelling at (lol) three kids gets confusing anyway!

Maybe I'll just make a pros and cons thread for them each and see what people think?

It's still up to DH ;)

Ooh ... well if she also goes by Lily I don't see the similarity to be as much of a problem. When you introduce all three, it's Lillian, Naomi and Ian (Naomi breaking up the "ian" sounds in both) and when calling them at home it could be Lily or Ian. Not as bad as it might seem on first glance, KWIM?

Good luck again!
