The problem is everyone keeps telling me aurora sounds like a boat and i don't really like the 'raw' sound, i think i just prefer the meaning on this one!
Aurora makes me think of the Roman goddess of the morning first & foremost and then Aurora Borealis.. and THEN Sleeping Beauty! No boat thoughts here! I also don't hear a 'raw' sound in Aurora, I hear 'roar'. Maybe it's because I'm a Northeastern girl but I don't think I'm the only one who'd say Ah-roar-ah when pronouncing Aurora.
I think Aurora LeFay is a completely gorgeous name and think those who are naysaying it are just wishing they could think up something with equal style!
ITA w/ momtokat. It's definitely Ah-roar-ah. (I'm a Southerner.) I don't think of boats at all! I like Aurora Shanti Star LaFaye (the original spelling of your surname) the best.
