Are you putting the accent on the first or second syllable when you say it?
I'm pretty sure that I told you that friends of mine named their baby girl Charis with the intention of pronouncing it CAR-iss, but no one ever got it right. Eventually, they gave in and started calling her CARE-iss. Of course, if you use it as a mn, the pronunciation won't be as important on a daily basis.
Anyway, if you're saying CUH-riss or CAR-iss, I think that Carys works just fine and is very pretty (although Cariss would work as well). If you're putting the accent on the 2nd syllable (like saying Carissa w/o the A), I'd definitely go with Cariss.
FWIW, I really like Tana Carys for you. :-)

That's exactly how I say Carys/Cariss, like Carissa without the 'a'. Or like saying Chris with an 'uh' in there. I think whichever way I decide to go, I'm going to have to pronounce it for people but then again, it's a mn so no biggie, really.

Thank you for responding. That helps me a lot.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that pronounces Carys this way. Thank you everyone for voting. If we use this as a mn, we'll be using Tanna Carys.

My sisters middle name is Cariss and she pronounces it the same as Carys. I have actually thought 0f using Cariss / Carys as a girls mn after my sister. I think of them both pronounced the same...Cah - Riss...
