A girl that I used to live by a few years ago named her dd Rhyann Claire. I've heard of a few girls named Ryan, but spelled more feminine so she's not confused for a boy her whole life on paper.

Ugh, I'm sorry, I just can't vote. I think they are all such boy names they'd be horrible for a girl. What will you name your son if your daughter has a boy's name? Sorry, I just can't do it.

Personally I like them all. I don't think it is necessary for either gender to "have" a name. If society makes it difficult for boys with a so-called "girls" names then that's its problem. And if society has a problem with a girl having a so-called boys name then it is also its problem. Pick a name you love for your darling little girl and to heck with everything else.

I voted for Blake.

As a matter of fact, I have thought about these names, long and hard. I still think they would make great names for girls. In my opinion, it would be better if there was no such thing as "boy" names and "girl" names. If everyone gave their children unisex names, maybe there would finally be equality among the sexes. I've thought this through before I even made the poll, okay? And, Chandler, Blake, and Ryan are not "boy" names. I've looked all three of them up many times, and they are listed as "unisex" names. Therefore, all three are just fine for girls.

I just wanted to say I love the name Ryan for a girl. I am thinking of naming my baby Rylie if it is a girl, but Ryann is a close second right now. Do NOT listen to the people who want boy or girl names. Personally - I think many names work for both. As for the pp who said to ask a teenage boy how he feels about little girls with his name - well I did. I asked a Jordan how he felt - and he said it didnt bother him at all. In fact he told me - he had a sister named Taylor! Anyhow - good luck with whatever you decide.

I agree w/you 1,000%! My son's friend's name is Taylor, he's a teenager, and he HATES his name! He keeps trying to tell everyone to call him by his middle name and when I asked why, he said it's embarassing.

Now......tell me......why on EARTH should a "boy" be embarassed to have a "boys" name? He shouldn't! Not unless people keep giving the "boy" names to the girls until it becomes the norm! THAT'S WHY!!!

That just reminded me. There was a boy in my grade who's name was Adam. He was the 3rd of 4 kids. The other 3 were girls. Their names were Charlie, Alex, and Danny. The mother said that she thought about giving her son a more girlish name, she really wanted to, but she figured she'd best give a boys name so he wasnt teased. Like, what the ??? is up w/that? All the kids were born in the '70's, except the oldest. She was born in '68.

And no, Charlie is not short for Charlene, Alex is not short for Alexia or Alexandra, and Danny is not short for Danielle. Charlie, Alex and Danny are their real names straight up.

None of the above. Unless you are certain your daughter will grow up to be an author or a super model, give her a girl's name. Think of all the girls named Morgan and what your imagine of them is. That's the Blake, Chandler, or Ryan, of 2019.

They may not be 'boy' names but they sure aren't feminine. Has ANYONE EVER had a grandmother named Blake? Or Chandler?

Were you hoping for a boy and disaapointed that you got a girl? If so, I am very sorry, but do not make your little girl pay for that disappointment. Let her be a girl just as you would let a boy be a boy and not name him Sue or Mary or Jane. It's not 'cool' for a girl to thought of as a boy in every school class, summer camp, club, etc. No kid wants to be 'different'. To kids, that translates as just plain weird. Perhaps the name will work if she is a very high powered lawyer or super model but please think of her childhood and what these names will be like when she's a slightly gawky 9 year old or an akward 13 year old hoping to make the dance team and not the football team.
