I like Isabella Rose and Violet Anne...the others didn't flow so well for me when I was saying them aloud.

I found your list interesting because Isabella, Grace, and Emma are all very popular and trendy, whereas January and Sicily are very much off the beaten track.

I don't think I have ever seen Sicily before as a girls name, I have seen it spelled Cecily which I think is much prettier. Sicily makes me think of the Sicilian mafia or pizza or something. OTOH Cecily is quite pretty. I also really like Cecilia and just Celia.

I voted for Violet Anne, which I think is a very pretty name and it flowed the best. Violet is so soft and femine, I think it will be a grow-up well. I do like Isabella and Grace, but I would avoid them due to popularity. However, if you love one them then use it! January sounds odd compared to the other names you listed. I like unique names, but this one sounds a little made-up. I might have voted for Sicily if you spelled it: Cecily.

Isabella Rose - A bit predictable. Rose is such a common mn and Isabella is now very popular.. it just isn't anything special and is almost boring.
Sicily Emma - I love the name, but dislike the spelling strongly. Cecily Emma would be great, although even better I like Cecily Anne or Cecily Rose (flows better). Cecelia and Celia are also nice.
January Elisse - Really don't like this at all. January just seems silly to me, and though I love Elise, I am hoping that Elisse is a typo.
Violet Anne - BEAUTIFUL! I love Violet, it is so pretty. Anne is a bit plain, but if it is a family name I understand the use of it. If not, I prefer Violet Emma or Violet Elise.
Grace Madelaine - Madelaine = mad-uh-lane? Madeline would be an easier spelling/pronunciation, not quite sure where you're going with the laine ending. That said, the name itself is too trendy, along with Grace.

Faves:
Violet Emma or Violet Elise
Cecily Emma, Cecily Rose, or Cecily Anne

Are any of the MNs family names? I definately suggest doing that, especially since many of these mn's on your list seem like fillers.

Anne is a family name, but I do very much like the idea of Violet Elise. As soon as I read that I was like...wow.

Sicily is spelled Sicily because it's one of DH's favorite places of life. He came up with the name, but has been trending away from it the last few weeks.

Isabella is a family favorite, but it's not my favorite, per se. I do think it's very pretty and coming up with a middle name is hard.

I know a January and she rocks, hence that name.

Grace Madelaine was actually a bit of a placebo name, because I felt like I needed five choices. Don't get me wrong, I love the name, but there's no story or investment behind it.

I actually won't find out the sex till next week, but all I can come up with is girls' names. Which is funny, because I've been craving blue.

Since Sicily has a special meaning for your dh, I could get on board for Sicily as a name.

I know a little girl named Sisilee which is so sweet!! Just thought I would throw this spelling out there for Sicily. I like this name. You have a lot of good choices!
Good Luck!

Isabella Rose -- "Is a bell a rose?" Obviously not. Be careful when pairing any word names with Isabella, because it usually winds up sounding like a question. ;)

Sicily Emma -- I know you mentioned a reason for liking the actual place name, but I do prefer Cecily (love it, actually). Have you considered something like Cecilia, nn Sicily? I think it'd be fine as a nn.

January Elisse -- sorry ... I can't get into January. It definitely sounds like a stage name. I love Elise, spelled this way.

Violet Anne -- Violet is sweet. I think you said Anne was a family name, but since Sicily is also meaningful to you I think Violet Sicily could work (not as bad as a mn either)

Grace Madelaine --eh. Nothing special, KWIM?

FWIW -- and I know you already know this -- Isabella, Rose, Emma, Anne and Grace are all rather common/popular (and Violet has the celeb link, although I don't think it has risen as dramatically as most had thought it would).

Yeah, I've always loved Violet. I think it's more a tribute to Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory than Jennifer Garner's baby. Actually, I was all mad when she used it.

A lot of the names I chose are a little common, but it's hard! Family or friends are all "Ehhh, hippie" whenever I choose something even slightly unusual. I'm not a hippie! I just have too much imagination.

There are some great recs on this thread, and it's so useful because people will be straight with you instead of smiling and nodding and telling you they love the name, when behind your back they're all "OMG, she's going to name her firstborn _______."

I'm really leaning toward Violet Elise or Violet Isabella now. Thanks so much! Now I just have to get my DH to come up with some opinions. He wants to wait until we meet the baby! I can't even choose where to go to dinner, much less name a child with that little notice.

LOL! I know exactly what you mean. I'm a "planner," so I definitely can't go into something blindly, whereas when we were naming our girls my dh was always saying things like "what's the rush?" or "we have plenty of time!" (if only he knew!). ;)

Violet is wonderful, btw, and I love the Willie Wonka reference.

Ps. I've gotten the "hippie" comments about our naming (and birthing) style as well. No big deal ... at least they have names we love. ;)
