Alison looks a lot more plain compared to Allison.

well, I had to vote for Alison since it's my name! ;-)

I saw on a french website like a million spellings of it, some were so unusual like Allyssone/Alysone/Alisson/Alysson/Allissonne, etc.

Hey now, I see someone wrote that Alison looks more plain! Okay, I know it's nothing personal :-), but I have never been a plain person. I always hated it when people tried to spell my name Allison or my nickname as Allie. I do however like Allyson and Alyson, for some reason.

I'm apparently in the minority here, but I actually prefer the appearance of Alison. I'm not sure why, but it looks more feminine to me.

Ps. I just realized looking at the other posts, although both spellings are fine (and obviously this isn't one that would be mispronounced or anything), I see Allison as All-i-son (as in the word all), and Alison as Al-i-son (as in the name Al). Not saying I'm weird and would actually pronounce it this way, but it's what my eye sees regardless. Maybe that's why I prefer the one-L spelling? ;) Just a thought!

that's funny, my grandma used to say that everytime someone mispelled my name, she said you aren't ALL-ison, you are AL-ison!
